About
Who’s behind this site?
Me. I’m a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who enjoys conversing with people about my faith and theirs. In the last couple of years, I’ve had the opportunity to talk to hundreds, or maybe even thousands, of people online. Most people have heard of the Mormon Church and believe that they understand our doctrines, at least at a superficial level. What I’ve found, unfortunately, is many of the things they think we believe are not our doctrine at all. Instead, they are misleading statements put forth about Mormon doctrine by critics of the Mormon Church.
Therefore, I wanted to make a simple site that clearly delineates what is Mormon doctrine and what is not Mormon doctrine. After reading this site, hopefully the questions you’ll know to ask when you hear about a “Mormon doctrine” is:
1. What is the source of this supposed doctrine?
2. Is that source considered a source of official Mormon doctrine or is it just opinion/conjecture?
If you have any questions about what we believe, it’d be great to hear from you. Please use the contact page to send me any thoughts, comments, or questions you might have.
I am grateful to be a member of the Mormon Church and for the great blessings it has brought into my life and the lives of my family, and would invite you to consider the blessings it could bring into yours.
